All Hail The Yeti - All Hail The Yeti (NN Promo 2013)

"All Hail The Yeti are an up and coming modern metal act who left their Hollywood homes to take the metal scene by storm. Instead of playing regular shows with locals, they opted for shows with Times Of Grace, Soulfly, Fear Factory, and Suicide Silence. Obviously, these guys have something to prove. And for fans of modern metal, they’ve definitely proven it with this debut release..."

Diabolical - Neogenesis (NN Promo 2013)

"Neogenesis is a rather nifty concept; if I don’t say so myself. It’s the very first “literary concept album” which means that it is not only a rather bombastic death metal album, but that it’s also a novelization of about 106 pages (which is quite short compared to my lengthy prattlings) that focus on the end of the world and what lies beyond. It’s certainly a “novel” concept, penned by the band’s own axeman Carl Stjarnlov and is certain to be something of a collector’s item, regardless of the strength of the book..."

Watain - The Wild Hunt (NN Promo 2013)

At risk of losing my site, I cannot post any single part of the review that I did for the album here. However, as requested by the titans at Century Media; you'll be able to view it exclusively, here:

Thanks for understanding. Enjoy the review.

Ill Bill - The Grimy Awards (NN Promo 2013 Hip-Hop)

"It’s been a long time since we’ve heard a new LP from Ill Bill, known most notably for being the brother of fellow rapper Necro, and a killer artist in his own right. Many things have happened since the metal influence in 2008’s The Hour Of Reprisal and not surprisingly; Necro and Ill Bill are back to making true Hip Hop records again. But don’t think that Bill’s gone soft throughout the years, because he still hits hard and fast. It’s like the art of rapping has become second nature for the man at this point; and I’m quite sure that there aren’t too many things that he can’t make a good rhyme out of these days..."

JordanL - FFV3 (NN Promo 2013 Hip-Hop)

"This third mixtape from underground Hip-Hop artist JordanL showcases a strong effort from the emerging artist, even though it’s still kind of rough around the edges. Tracks like “Focused”, “Jello Song” and “All Spaniel Everything” offer enough bump for the casual Hip-hop listener who likes his beats to go hard and his hooks to go harder, but there are diamonds in the rough like opener “Goals Nd Ambitions” which hearkens back to the roots of Hip-Hop music where bearing one’s soul through poetry was at the lyrical core of the music..."

Devildriver - Winter Kills (NN Promo 2013)

"Devildriver’s Napalm Records debut is not surprisingly any different than anything that they would have done under Roadrunner. As a matter of fact, this new album is not much different from anything else that they’ve done as a band. Their last album Beast showed a return to the punchy side of the band and Winter Kills definitely showcases plenty of that. Intricate riffs and beautiful melodies still flow throughout the disc, but Dez’s vocals still remain as flat and
one-dimensional as they’ve always been..."

Mongrel - Reclamation (NN Promo 2013)

"Boston’s Mongrel are definitely one of the more interesting bands that I’ve heard throughout the mass of releases that I’ve heard this year. Not only do these guys have punk down, but they’ve also got a good grip on metal and new vocalist Jessica Sierra is one of the angriest women I’ve heard in the scene. She’s got size and a Joan Jett attitude to match, showing that strong frontwomen don’t also need to be pencil thin wafers..."
